Results and Progress

Pupil achievement is judged in two ways;

  1. Attainment – this refers to whether a pupil is working ‘at the expected level’ or ‘working at greater depth’
  2. Progress – this refers to how well pupils have progressed in their learning from their starting point

At Pennington, we believe that all pupils should make good or better progress in their learning every lesson. Teacher’s evaluations, together with formal assessments inform attainment grades.

To ensure that the collection of data is not just an outcome process, we use all school assessments and data to identify pupil’s starting points, learning gaps and next steps. This in turn informs the planning and preparation of pupil’s lessons to ensure that every child makes good progress across the curriculum.
